Tianna Esperanza releases new single "Princess Slit and the Raincoat Prince"

Rising singer-songwriter Tianna Esperanza  pays homage to her grandmother Palmolive - the pioneering founder of legendary all-female punk band The Slits and The Raincoats.

A lyrically honest and captivating single paired with a sleek Peter Collins Campbell-directed video, “Princess Slit and the Raincoat Prince” demonstrates Tianna’s shining vocal versatility. Tianna serves up an instant upbeat classic layered with an array of effective percussive elements and heavy guitar riffs.

Growing up as queer women of colour in the affluent, white culture of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Tianna is the granddaughter of famed punk drummer, Palmolive - pioneering founder of legendary all-female punk band the Slits and the Raincoats. It’s immediately clear that Tianna’s own appetite for changing the narrative sits front and centre of her experience, a precociously intelligent and potent head on young shoulders.

With influences ranging from Nina Simone to Public Enemy to Gil Scott-Heron, Esperanza emerges as a high-calibre, uniquely talented artist and fashion muse in the making.
