South London’s rising alt-pop star returns with a radiant new single ‘Till I Wilt’
Rising alt-pop star Lauren Dejey returns with a radiant new single ‘Till I Wilt’, made alongside her long-term producers, spacemen. After a prosperous and rewarding 2023, with today’s new single, Dejey starts the new year off with an explosive energy that sets the tone for the year ahead.
Lauren shares what her new single means to her: “Giving every drop of energy away to someone. You’d do anything to help them grow and thrive while your colours slowly fade. Like a gentle flower wilting on someone's shelf, only needing a touch of love and care to come back to full bloom.”
Heavy in static noise and imaginative lyricism, Dejey delivers yet another immersive song that is both sonically gentle yet sharp in all its distorted production. Frequently inspired by the crossovers in nature and the human experience, ‘Till I Wilt’ articulates the shared characteristics of humans and mother nature, as we too run the risk of wilting away when left without the care of others. The juxtaposition of the delicacy in Lauren’s lyricism and vocals, with the staticy, harsh production makes her work one of a kind and blissfully unexpected.
Last year, Lauren released a wealth of wonderful new music, as she entered an exciting new era in her music career. She started off the year with the release of ‘I’m Not Ready’, shortly followed by her singles ‘Solar’ and ‘Permanent’, which all led her up to the release of her stunning EP ‘To Sow by Scattering’ at the end of the year.
Clout Magazine - “Solar’ is a great showcase of Lauren and the way that her adventurous sound is evolving and growing, with her distinctive and contemporary charm melding effortlessly with its charismatic, warm feel.”
Babystep Magazine - “Lauren Dejey, is making waves with the release of her latest EP, 'To Sow By Scattering.' The vibrant record features four diverse singles that not only showcase Lauren's musical prowess but also solidify her position as a standout artist for 2024.”
