South London based newcomer Loie releases brand new single 'superpowers'

London based singer/songwriter Loie is back with her highly anticipated soulful heart-warmer “superpowers”. 
Opening the track Loie’s delicate and distinctive vocals glide upon minimal yet emotive production. Celebrating loves transformative power and the freedom that comes when two souls truly connect, the songstress; known for her intimate lyricism sings “and you don’t even know, how far we could go, happens every time we touch, didn’t know what it was, now I know it’s just us, to infinity and beyond.” Glistening keys and syncopated drum patterns create the perfect foundation for Loie’s perfectly pitched harmonies and nostalgic backing vocals as she effortlessly blends R&B, soul and pop.

Talking on the track Loie tells us: “’superpowers’ is about recognising the incredible strength that love gives us, it’s an anthem for everyone who has experienced that special connection that makes you feel unstoppable.”

Hailing from South London, the Brit School alumni has spent a number of years honing in on her eloquent song writing and musicianship skills, drawing inspiration from legendary female vocalists like Nina Simone, Sade, and Jill Scott, while infusing a modern twist with influences from contemporary icons like Cleo Sol, Snoh Aalegra, and SAULT.

With early key support from some of London’s leading female DJ’s such as Hannah Wants, Jamz Supernova, Nadia Jae, Jyoty & Jess Izzat Loie has already garnered recognition from the likes BBC Asia, BBC Radio 1, BBC London & BBC1xtra. As well as Spotify editorials such as NWF & Fresh Finds, and publications including WONDERLAND and NOTION.

Off the back of her last EP What We Become and with 2025 fast approaching the rising newcomer is set to release an array of heartfelt and honest music, including an LP produced by the talented Ben Jones, Jake Edwards, and more.  

If “superpowers” is anything to go by, the remainder of 2024 going into the new year looks set for Loie to be a significant one to watch.
