Sara Lina enters 2025 with flamboyant noir-pop on ‘Only Say Yes’
The new single by the Danish-Italian artist celebrates freedom and marks the arrival of a fearless, independent diva poised to mesmerize listeners this year!
The tones from the piano make the raindrops run down the window into her apartment. Joni Mitchell spins on the turntable, and in the glow of the candlelight, she dances around by herself. It is her world, dreamy and sensual, seductive and free like the night, which lies wide open.
This is also how Sara Lina’s world sounds on her new single ’Only Say Yes’. Despite a distinctly melancholic tone, she sings about the freedom to live spontaneously and say "yes" to all of life’s experiences – fully aware that they might leave scars.
"The song is a snapshot of living carefree, allowing oneself the freedom to follow immediate impulses, to be generous with one’s time and oneself. No plans, knowing it might get messy at times, but at least I’m free and doing things at my own pace. ’Only Say Yes’ also describes what became the beginning of a four-year journey, where I lived curiously and boundary-pushing, following my own freedom to try everything," says Sara Lina.
It was the dream of sun and surf that sent Sara Lina from Denmark to Australia, but it was in Melbourne’s gloom and darkness that a journey into an unknown underworld began, turning one year into four. With ’Only Say Yes’, Sara Lina portrays the young woman who left, seen from a new perspective as the young woman who returned.
Sara Lina is a graduate of Melbourne College of Arts. With her captivating diva universe and flamboyant noir-pop, she sets the stage for a story that is only just beginning.
