Rising West London songstress ultravividpink releases new EP "ULTRA"
Fast-rising West London based newcomer ultravividpink has finally landed, with her otherworldly new EP ULTRA set for release on the 28th of November.
A true storyteller, ultravividpink takes us on a journey of love, lust, and heartbreak as she explores the complexities and duality of God complexes, crippling insecurity, and self-worth. Taking twists and turns the lyrical content of the EP searches for answers as ultravividpink looks within, as well as at a relationship that is no longer serving her. Equal parts tender and charming, ULTRA is infused with perfect pop hooks, emotive R&B melodies and intricately executed production cementing the young talent as a significant one to watch.
“Ultra” acts as an epic opening track to the project, setting the tone for the otherworldly elements to follow in abundance. Connecting syncopated percussion with waves of enticing chords and futuristic production, ultravividpink's impressive vocal range oozes personality as she dances between full voice and falsetto. Seamlessly blending genres “Endredada” (English translation “Tangled Up”) combines Favela funk with jersey beats and the pop and R&B ultravividpink has become known for. Bursting with texture the songstress sings in her native language as beautifully arranged harmonies and melodies take centre stage. Layering delicate keys, effortless harmonies and ultravividpink’s distinctive tone, focus track “End it Now” takes us on a sonic journey with complex production and emotive lyrics. Exploring topics of co-dependency and self-sabotage ultravividpink is joined by musical artist elevatetoday, gracing the track with his signature raspy vocals. Bringing the EP to a close “Hate 2 Hate U” is laced with emotive acoustic guitar chords laying the flawless foundation for ultravividpink’s delicate vocals in this earnest and vulnerable heartbreak anthem. Reflecting on a painful break-up, the upcoming talent sings: “Hate to hate you, push you off a pedestal, I’d love to shake you lose.” Perfectly pitched harmonies are effortlessly woven between intricate twinkling keys and soulful melodies creating rich layers of unfiltered emotion, proving ultravividpink’s ability to encapsulate her feelings through the vessel of her music.
Opening up about the EP as a whole ultravividpink tells us: “This project was produced exclusively by my dearest friend AKA block (Victor Ray, Kate Stewart), who is extremely talented. A number of the songs were co-written with the powerful artist and songwriter Aaria Tae who is also extremely talented. I made this project last December as my “lets fall in love with music again” rendition. I really needed to just make music I liked and hadn’t heard before in the UK. I really wanted to push the blends of cultures and universal feelings through a conceptual journey. We started by just hanging out every day in AKA block’s studio and going through ideas. It was also interesting for me because I hadn’t made anything in a while and when I went in at the beginning of the process I was shy and self-critical but by the end we had made so much good shit that I was eager to make more. My belief in my abilities grew the more I did it and I felt worthy of creating. I think the power of my debut EP is that it highlights the power of independence and self-love, even as other struggles arise. Its cliche but self-belief is so hard to attain when it’s not your usual mindset. Going through things like anxiety and even breakups can really twist you right back into gear and look forward to a stronger version of yourself. Self-identity is also highly important. Never forget that being you makes you special type vibe.”
With her debut drop Pink Hues released back in 2022, the Spanish and Venezuelan decent artist has delivered a slew of deeply authentic and personal moments with her music, exploring topics such as co-dependency, anxiety and love. Having studied fashion journalism and promotion at the London College of Fashion, the rising talent was encouraged by friend Hugo Silvani (Pale Waves) to follow her dream of becoming an artist. Creating music with the likes of Jeshi and a new collaboration freshly released with prominent newcomers H.LLS, ultravividpink is in all he right places. Balancing her creative expressions across music and fashion spaces, the rising creative has walked for London based designer Sinead Gorey at London Fashion Week and has modelled in music videos for Rita Ora and Sainte and has received early support from BBC Introducing.
Now that ULTRA has finally landed, ultravividpink continues the exciting trajectory carving a significant path in the London pop landscape and setting herself up as a significant one to watch for 2025.
