R&B/Soul Manchester native Alex Ko is back with second stunning single "Fantasy"

Hailing from Manchester, R&B/Soul newcomer Alex Ko transports us into his charismatic musical world with his second release “Fantasy”.

The smooth and whimsical production for “Fantasy” is an apt environment for Alex’s perfectly pitched falsetto vocals combined with his vulnerable confession of longing for an ex-lover and hoping for a different outcome. In a heartfelt plea, the rising talent sings “I want you to live one million stories with me, I want you to look back proud”. Meshing sprinklings of glistening synths and syncopated R&B percussion “Fantasy” is a beautiful second release and insight into what Alex’s debut project has in store.

Talking on the track Alex Ko tells us: “Fantasy was written in the height of covid. At the time of writing, I was back in Manchester working for the NHS test and trace in my Mum and Dads Conservatory. I was in the middle of a breakup with my boyfriend of three years. I came up with this song as I fantasised about my hopes for a rekindling of this broken relationship. Such thoughts circled my mind; ‘this time things will be different’ or ‘if we take some time to work on our problems, everything will be harmonious’. We have all been there. We try to convince the person we love to change their mind even if they are the ones who did wrong by us. We hope for the best and want what we know deep down is just…. Fantasy.”

With a history in performing arts Alex Ko’s journey began as the lead in the acclaimed West End production ‘Thriller’, Alex has toured the world to sold-out audiences and perfected his all-round performance skills before honing in on his own recognisably smooth vocals and honest lyrical style. Hot off the press after the release of his debut single “High On You” Alex has already gained support from the likes of WONDERLAND MAGAZINE and ONES TO WATCH. Promised for early next year, Alex Ko’s forthcoming body of work reflects on themes of love, life and his dual Chinese and British heritage.
