NORWAY’S DELARA SET TO RELEASE EMPOWERING NEW SINGLE “Didn’t You Know”

“Norwegian-born Delara has already made light work of conquering her own country” - COMPLEX

Having been co-signed by Alicia Keys, performed on stages with Dua Lipa, Khalid, and Kalis Uchis, and built up a multi-million listenership across the globe, Delara  is a Norwegian force destined for further stretching waters.  Returning with a compelling new single "Didn't You Know", this latest dream-pop offering showcases Delara's unique fusion of soulful pop and thought-provoking storytelling  that continues to mesmerize listeners.

“Didn’t You Know” is currently synched to Norway’s biggest crime-thriller series ‘Gangs of Oslo’, also streaming on Netflix.

"Didn't You Know" strikes a chord as it skillfully narrates the journey of deep introspection during one's lowest moments. The song explores the profound realisation that we enter this world alone and will ultimately depart from it in solitude. Its lyrical content serves as a poignant reminder that confronting our darkest moments can ignite personal growth and self-enhancement.

In Delera’s own words, she eloquently explains; “To encounter yourself at rock bottom and understand that it can only lead to improvement. When you grasp the fact that you are born alone and will pass away alone, and no one can inflict more pain on you than you can on yourself. Once you've faced your darkest moments, not even the devil can frighten you, because you comprehend that what can truly harm you the most in the world are your own thoughts and actions. Nothing is scarier and more perilous than that”

Delara has, locally, risen to the top. Upcoming release “Didn’t you know” lands on the heels of her recent announcement of an exciting Norwegian-wide tour, culminating in a headlining performance at Sentrum Scene in Oslo, with a capacity just shy of 2,000. Previous single, "Unbound” was added to rotation on Norway’s biggest nation-wide station NRK P3, and Delara made notable appearances on Nitimen and Selskapssjuk. Aftenposten showered "Unbound” with praise, awarding it an impressive ⅘ rating, meanwhile, Wonderland Magazine described the single as “her most personal and characterful release to date”.

Success is no stranger to Delara. Extending beyond the definition of versatile, Delara has adapted and evolved as she has grown into her sound and in doing so has accumulated an extensive range of support. Having gained the adorations of some of the most notable press across the globe, such as, The Independent, Interview Mag, Red Bull, Clash Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, GAFFA & more, Delara has over an incredible 100 million streams across DSP’s to further justify the credibility of her undeniable talent. Delara has performed across the world, shared stages with Dua Lipa, Khalid & Young Thug, and was hand-picked by Alicia Keys to join as part of an all-woman orchestra for a very special rendition of “If I Ain’t Got You”, for the promotion of Netflix’s Queen Charlotte - read more here.

Born in Sweden and raised by Iranian parents before moving to Norway as a child, Delara has a complex relationship with her heritage. While she feels deeply connected to Iran, she is also a vocal critic of its current political regime. In 2022, she joined an Amnesty International-affiliated protest outside the Norwegian Parliament building in Oslo, following the tragic death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in the custody of the hijab police for "inappropriate clothing." This conflict of love for a country and its people, influenced by Persian poetry that informs her writing, while also feeling alienated from its governance, resonates throughout her current musical incarnation. Delara's music not only captures her unique sound but also her passionate stance on pressing social issues, making her an artist with a message worth listening to.
