Growing up, Me.Tai was inspired by her DJ Father, notably birthing her passion for singing at eight years old during a school talent show. Carefully piecing together her sound throughout the years, Me.Tai draws influences from the likes of The Spice Girls and Michael Jackson, with additional sounds pulled together from her sister's introduction to R&B icons including Brandy and Whitney Houston, which shines through in her music.
Me.Tai finds inspiration in real-life events and heavily values collaboration. Speaking on the inspiration behind the making of the track, Me.Tai says: “As I’ve grown and continue to evolve, I realise that expressing emotion is an important part of who you are as a person. And I now know my vulnerability is a strength rather than a weakness”.
