Mahad is a Stockholm raised poet - a 23 year old writer turned singer where his main source of inspiration is his sometimes very messy love life. Growing up in a non-musical Ugandan family, he describes music as something that was always being played loudly. From MTV and its broad music genres, Mahad would spend all day listening to a variety of genres, which has left a mark on his music.

“I’ve always been writing, and I’d confidently name poetry as my first love and music as the second one, where songwriting became the love child between the two. Writing songs and making music in my bedroom is where I feel my truly happiest.”

Having spent a lot of time in London, falling in love with the city and getting heartbroken, it shaped Mahad’s songwriting into a more personal story, where he found writing as a deeper help in finding an outlet for his tragic emotions, which he combines with his voice, having his music play between the lines of alternative r&b and pop. 

Mahad’s debut project is about two people, a summer love that was doomed from the very beginning, where it ended with him losing a part of himself, which he’s still looking for in this new version of himself that he’s transforming into - and his first love; a love he partially ruined by being self destructive.

The songs are influenced by R&B and Darker Pop.
