MAGLY faces her greatest fear on new cut 'They Turn Into Ghosts'
"My biggest fear is that my closest friends and family might suddenly leave me. Unfortunately, this has happened a few times when insecurity and anxiety took over, and I ended up pushing away the ones who only wanted to help," MAGLY says.
MAGLY’s universe is fragile and stormy. She has never hidden or suppressed her emotions, but instead allowed them to flow freely within her irresistible, grand pop universe. On her new single, ‘They Turn Into Ghosts,’ the 28-year-old Danish songwriter faces her greatest fear.
"I've always been a very open and honest person – I’ve told my closest friends almost everything, especially when I’ve gone through tough times. But at some point, I felt I was pulling those who were there for me down into my darkness. I didn’t think it was fair to them, so I held back, lied, and said I was fine. It’s paradoxical, because what I really needed deep down was for those around me to stay with me," MAGLY shares about ‘They Turn Into Ghosts.’
MAGLY is Ditte Bissenbacker. She played her first tentative chords on the piano in her childhood home on the island of Funen, Denmark and later attended the renowned Norwegian songwriting and music school, Limpi Music. There, she met Swedish producer Oskar Karlström and English songwriter Lily Williams, with whom she wrote ‘They Turn Into Ghosts.’ The song was later produced by Danish Andreas Sommer (Medina, Rasmus Seebach, Nik & Jay, and others) and Lasse Baunkilde (Christopher, Daniel Schulz, and others).
She made her debut in 2023 with two radio hits, ‘Convenience’ and ‘I Don’t Feel Fine,’ while prominent Nordic artists like Jada, Drew Sycamore and Norwegian Highasakite invited her on tour as support act. Like many others, they fell in love with MAGLY's soulful, organic, and captivating pop universe. After a one-year break, MAGLY released the single ‘Honesty’ in the fall of 2024. It premiered on Danish national radio P3 and gained massive international attention, featuring in major U.S. outlets like Peaches 'n' POP and Broken 8 Records.
