Madison Margot searches for truth in “Heralds of Hope”

Independent singer-songwriter Madison Margot is ready to win over audiences as she searches for truth in her haunting new single, “Heralds of Hope”.

Fusing melancholic guitars with muted drums and confessional lyrics, "Heralds of Hope" marks a shift in Margot’s artistic direction. The introspective “Heralds of Hope” offsets with the stadium-rock entry “God Laughs” - praised by Wonderland as a “soaringly uplifting number that showcases Margot’s lyrical acumen” - and the dreamy country vibes in “All My Wishes”, which Rolling Stone India selected for their “Hits of Tomorrow” series.

Closing the chapter on a difficult period of the artist’s life, “Heralds of Hope” draws from the depths of Margot’s heart, weaving pensive, reflective lyrics with emotional vocal harmonies that build toward a cinematic finish. Known for her deeply vulnerable, autobiographical storytelling - a hallmark of her musical hero, Taylor Swift - Margot’s latest release is a relatable portrayal of heartache and resilience.

Penning the lyrics herself and producing “Heralds of Hope” with Tone Def (Nat & Alex Wolff), the mix and mastering courtesy of Joey Messina-Doerning (Haim, Trousdale) assists with bringing out the subtle beauties of the song’s earthy production.

Meanwhile a vintage visualizer, co-created with Sabra Binder, enhances the intimacy of the track. Shot on VHS, the vintage-style clip feels like an authentic home movie, capturing both Margot’s free-spirited nature and the escapism buried within the lyrics.

Speaking about “Heralds of Hope”, Madison Margot said the following: “‘Heralds of Hope’ is a song about living in unrest and searching to find meaning in life. The line ‘and he doesn’t belong to me anymore’ came to me while I was driving on the 101 freeway  at the beginning of the year. Once I got home, I grabbed my guitar and wrote the entire song in a stream of consciousness. It truly is one of the most honest songs I’ve ever written and a glimpse into what my mind looks like at times. The thoughts that I’m constantly filtering through. It’s a dream come true to have a song this beautiful, recent, and raw out in the world. I hope people find comfort in it.”

After dabbling with songwriting and learning to play guitar at age 11, Madison Margot’s musical journey took off in 2020 with the release of her first project, The Chronicles of Lovers, which was written by Margot and produced by Kyle Shearer (Tove Lo, Rina Sawayama, Caroline Polachek) and Dibs (Carly Rae Jepsen). Since then, Margot has certified her status as one of the most exciting new voices on LA’s indie music scene, wowing crowds at iconic venues in the city such as The Peppermint Club and The Viper Room. With high praise for Margot’s creations coming from Wonderland and Earmilk as well as an ongoing presence in the music blogosphere, Margot continues to impress each time she reveals another layer of herself through her music.
