Italo-English band VANARIN returns with ‘Falling Under’ ahead of their upcoming album

After releasing three successful singles during the summer – A Fly On The Wall, Hey Listen and I Don't Know – Italo-English band VANARIN returns with Falling Under, the fourth single taken from their new album soon to be published by Dischi Sotteranei.

The group remarks in a fresh and unusual way on their minimalist pop approach to 2000s-derived indietronica, contaminated with the warmth and groove of black sounds. Riding between the most inspired James Blake and the psych digressions of Tame Impala, they lead us from the first listen into the territories of a mesmerising and seductive soul-step. The bubble-synth effect is immediate and the multifaceted use of the vocoder on David Paysden’s vocal line makes the song travel into space as if it came from a distant galaxy or a parallel universe where Air is having fun playing 70s funk music.

The catchy melody is then charged with grit thanks to the distorted guitars, giving free rein to all their creativity. A sudden and liberating burst of electricity, which on a symbolic level stands for the achievement of a realisation: that of the fragility that brings people together and causes them to fall towards an inevitable feeling of surrender, which, however, if shared in the affection of a friendship, can become an important point of closeness and encounter.

VANARIN is an Anglo-Italian psych-pop band that was formed in July, 2016, by David Paysden, Marco Sciacqua, Massimo Mantovani and Marco Brena. Their style of music is best described as a combination of psych-pop and rock. The band has currently two EPs and two full-length albums under their belt, playing more than 150 gigs participating in big festivals like MI AMI Festival, Siren Festival and Radio Onda D’urto in Europe and Zandari Festa and LUCFest in Asia opening for various international acts such as Battles, Thurston Moore, Public Image Ltd, Yellow Straps, The Rodeo, Silica Gel and HYBS.

The band has two EPs and two successful albums to its credit so far, Overnight (2018, Woodworm) and Treading Water (2022, Dischi Sotterranei).

On June 26th, 2024, they returned with a new single, A Fly On The Wall, followed on July 24th by a second track, Hey Listen. The third single I Don't Know came out on August 21st and the fourth single Falling Under dropped on September 25th. These are the first excerpts from the band's highly anticipated third album, out soon via Dischi Sotterranei.
