Having always held a flame for EDM, pleasedontleave leans into Altara’s love for electronica, alt-pop and his ability to fuse early influences into something that's entirely his own.

Sharing a little more, Altara explained: Something I struggle with a lot is how much faster life can move than music. After I put out my debut single, I already felt that creeping up on me, so I got straight back into the studio to work on how I was feeling..

I wrote and produced ‘pleasedontleave’ as intuitively as I could. The inspiration came from one particular moment; I vividly remember having an argument & being asked what happens next, and in that moment I said ‘I don’t know, but just please don’t leave. I don’t know why but it really stuck with me. I don’t like to think of myself in that place.

pleasedontleave is the follow up to Altara’s debut EP The Lobby, which listeners were treated to at the end of last year. Proudly dynamic and never afraid to push boundaries, pleasedontleave arrives as a development in Altara’s sound, starting the year fully charged and ready to soundtrack your 2025.

Having only launched back in August with his impressive debut single ‘Somebody To Lose’, Altara was quick to win over listeners with his playful and punchy first move.

The release garnered much attention from the likes of Noctis, Hot Press, Ones to Watch and Kaltblut magazine who said that Altara ‘emerges as a refreshing anomaly, a maestro of mood and master of melody’. adding that ‘Altara is not just someone to lose sleep over—he’s an artist to keep on constant replay.’

In addition WHYTT magazine said that Altara’s ‘Retro rhythm beats will make you fall in love with his sound’

Altara's three track debut EP ‘The Lobby’ followed in November and dabbled in sunkissed alt-pop with ‘It’s Hitting You Isn’t It’. The track scooped support from tastemakers whilst also making its mark over at Apple Music on playlists such as New In Pop and New Music Daily. The EP closed with raw and intimate single ‘Milan’ which showcased yet another string to Altara’s bow and completed the EP as a flawless and diverse introduction to the new talent.

Altara has spent the last few years evolving his sound and finessing his production skills which continue to evolve in real time. With pleasantontleave kicking off his much anticipated next chapter, Altara is definitely an artist to watch this year.
