Hannah Grae shares beautiful new single ‘Nobody Does It Like You’
Today, Port Talbot-born rising star Hannah Grae has shared her stunning new single ‘Nobody Does It Like You’ – listen here / watch official visualiser here. Showcasing Hannah’s powerful vocal ability, the ballad sees her opening up about the confusing and emotional experience of finding yourself again after the end of a toxic romantic relationship. Hannah’s vulnerability on ‘Nobody Does It Like You’ contrasts the empowering sass seen on her previous release, 'Star Crossed Lover', but both tracks show Grae’s most honest and personal songwriting to date.
Commenting on the new release, Hannah says “’Nobody Does It Like You’ was a difficult song for me to write. I generally find it hard to be completely vulnerable in my music without playing a character or lacing the honesty with humour. I wanted to completely pour my heart onto the pages, erase the anger and sit with the sadness of my situation. Being angry is actually easy, especially when someone hurts you. After the end of my relationship, I found myself flipping between feeling furious and feeling empowered. Then randomly, when I’m walking down a busy street or going to pick up my groceries, it hits me. This feeling would, and still does, wash over me and there’s nothing to clutch onto, I just have to feel it. That’s what this song is about. It’s about the confusion and helplessness that comes with being betrayed and let down by someone you love so much. I didn’t recognise the person I walked away from, and that’s one foolish feeling. Pairing this song with ‘Star Crossed Lover’ shows the two strains of my healing process. It’s one thing to realise your anger and propel forwards from the fury, it’s another thing to take baby steps across a tightrope. Healing is a balancing act, and I hope that at least one person can resonate with my portrayal of that.”
