freetides - the Sustainable Swimwear making waves this summer
By Ellie Carter
Combining a ground-breaking design that honours both the wonder of the female form and our precious oceans, freetides is the swimwear line of dreams for fashion and environmentally conscious huns alike.
The brainchild of long-term besties Lucy Morgan-Hobbs and Beth Cotterell, the swimwear brand boast a gorgeous range of bikinis and swimsuits inspired by the natural beauty of the black sand beaches of Bali, characterised by the deep charcoal hues of the capsule collection. ‘We recognise the affinity between women and the ocean and the duality of their innate beauty and power’, they say, which is the intrinsic message behind everything freetides stands for.
Not only does freetides look good, it also does good for the planet at every stage from manufacture to shipping. Each piece is created with REPREVE, a certified OceanCycle material which repurposes post-consumer plastic into a traceable yarn that woven into each piece, which would otherwise end up in our seas
Lucy and Beth are passionate about creating swimwear that stands the test of time in terms of trend and longevity, placing emphasis on high quality, timeless products that are built to last and withstand gorgeous beach days and endless ocean dips.
freetides is already making waves across the industry with an exciting feature in the September Issue of British Vogue, along with a month-long display at Wolf & Badger’s flagship London store in Coal Drop’s Yard this summer. They also feature on Gather&See, an ethically conscious fashion retailer that curates and highlights the most prolific, sustainable brands.
With huge plans for a new collection and further collaborations, we are so excited to see what Lucy and Beth do next, shop freetides now at freetides.co.uk.
