ELI SHARES DYNAMIC NEW SINGLE ‘SIN’
From landing BBC Introducing’s Record Of The Week to being announced as the Support for Lauren Mayberry’s (CHVRCHES) European Tour, London alternative pop artist ELI shares her new single ‘Sin’, out everywhere now, just in time for spooky and scorpio season!
The track is the second single from her upcoming debut EP ‘Full Form’, out on 17 November, and follows debut single ‘Promises’.
Stepping back into her alternative pop girl element, ELI’s velvety vocal opens this hypnotic track, embellished with choppy siren-like backing vocals that overlay a shimmering guitar riff. The track builds to a cosmic drop reminiscent of Trip-Hop pioneers Massive Attack’s Unfinished Sympathy. ‘Sin’ is a fresh, fluid and melodically transcendent track and the heretical anthem we didn’t know we needed.
Speaking of the track, ELI says, “Sin is a powerful expression of the inner struggle faced by those who feel marginalized in society. It is a bold anthem for the outliers, the individuals who dare to defy societal norms, and go against the grain. This song celebrates the unorthodox, encouraging them to embrace their uniqueness and be true to themselves without fear or hesitation.
It is a rallying cry for those who yearn for acceptance, who refuse to settle for anything less than being embraced for who they truly are. Those who have felt the sting of rejection, whether due to their sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or alternative lifestyle, this anthem will resonate with anyone who has experienced the pain of not fitting in, offering them solace and a sense of belonging.”
With her EP ‘Full Form’ set for release on 17 November, ELI is set to impress with this versatile body of work showcasing her distinct production style and virtuosity. After a string of high-octane releases, ELI has built up a catalogue of press commending her unique sound including: BBC Introducing, Notion Magazine, Afropunk and Wordplay Magazine.
