ELECTRO-POP SINGER-SONGWRITER SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘BATHROOMS AT PARTIES’

Electro-pop singer, songwriter and visual artist Lunar June (aka Olivia Judd) shares her new single ‘bathrooms at parties’, out everywhere on 2 November.

The single is the latest track from her upcoming new EP ‘an ode to the girl i once was’, set for release in early 2024. With the EP’s debut single ‘heart scream summer’ landing support from key tastemakers like Wonderland, Ministry of Sound, New Wave Magazine and many more, ‘bathrooms at parties’ once again showcases Olivia’s gift as a storyteller and her knack for writing an incredibly catchy pop song!

Olivia is in fact the writer, arranger, producer, and artist behind everything she’s touched to date, and she continues to create euphoric yet deeply personal electro-pop music. Heavily influenced by artists such as Charli XCX and Lorde, Lunar’s music seamlessly combines elements of pop, indie and electro. She draws in her listener by telling stories with expressionism and relatability but with an angstful honesty at its core, all wrapped up in glistening electro beats and Olivia’s captivating vocals.

Speaking of the track, she says, “I wrote this song about that awkward period where we were kind of coming out of the pandemic but things were still a bit edgy. I had developed a lot of anxiety about going out and socialising and being in crowds of people again. ‘bathrooms at parties’ is about that, but paradoxically also craving the human experience of beautiful chaos, like dancing with strangers and getting a little too drunk and crying in bathrooms to your mates. I have an amazing friendship group and this is really a love letter to them of how they helped to bring me out of my shell again and find joy in the things that can initially feel scary.”

Olivia also announces the release of her anticipated second EP ‘an ode to the girl i once was’ - a collection of songs about the big feelings of a 20-something, barely an adult but feeling like a kid. The EP really encaptures the growing pains of transitioning into adulthood and having to take responsibility for yourself - emotionally and physically. The EP is set for release in early 2024, watch this space.
