Diana Goldberg drops 'Je Te Deteste' ahead of the November release of her next EP
Alt-pop singer, songwriter and musician Diana Goldberg shares her powerful new single ‘Je Te Déteste’, out everywhere now.
Hot off the release of her single ‘Gravity’, the track further showcases Diana’s versatility as an artist, once again highlighting her darker side and her natural gift for songwriting - all wrapped up in slick, catchy production and her stunning vocal delivery. The track is the latest single from her upcoming concept EP ‘Tears Don’t Fall In Space’, which is set for release in November.
The track was recorded at the beginning of 2024 with producer Ilja Krut and co-writer Laura Diederich in Berlin, and was written from an idea Diana got in a dream. She says, “I came up with the melody for the chorus in my sleep during a power-nap and quickly managed to wake myself up from my dream and record a voice note.
The song was inspired by a conversation I recently had with a close friend. She told me that her husband told her that he loves her in all the languages he speaks. So after I got my heart broken last year, I thought - ‘that’s fun, what if I tell him how much I hate him in all the languages I speak.’ That was pretty much the idea of the whole song and you can hear the outcome in the bridge in all four languages. Heartbreak is such a universal theme, and I want my music to be genreless, borderless, and touch as many people as I can - so I thought that was a perfect way to incorporate that into the track.”
Diana is a German-Latvian singer-songwriter, artist and musician based in Berlin. Rebellious and empowering yet deeply vulnerable, she creates conscious alt-pop music with neo-soul influences, and experimentation and unpredictability at the forefront. She has become known amongst her fans for her natural gift for writing thoughtful and compelling lyrics based on her own and other people’s life experiences.
Diana’s debut EP ‘Blossom In The Dark’ garnered editorial placements at Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal and Apple Music, a nomination as ‘Band of the year’ by Süddeutsche Zeitung and live performances at Reeperbahn-Festival, Superbloom Festival, Dubai Expo 2020 and support band of Alice Merton and JC Stewart among other major feats.
Through her lyrical and sonic DIY-storytelling, Diana dares listeners to be as bold and unapologetic as she is, urging them to let go of any expectations others might have of them, citing her own upbringing and inner desire to shy away from societal and cultural norms, choosing instead to listen to her inner voice, as motivation. The result is one that exudes an alt-pop, neo-soul sound with experimentation and unpredictability at the forefront.
