Debut album by Norwegian pop/electronic artist "Signe Dø"
Signe Danielsen Øgrim aka ‘Signe Dø’ is a Norwegian songwriter, musician and producer. In her glacial and dreamlike debut album "Gi Meg Månen", she explores the intersections of art-pop, trip-hop and traditional singer/songwriting; through soaring vocal melodies, ambient textures and processed recordings of clarinet, guitar, saxophone and field recordings.
Dø invites the listener to an intimate experience; as she reflects on vulnerable and challenging themes, such as identity, love and life transitions. With her crystal clear vocals and inherent warm, yet melancholic tone, her sound has been recurrently compared to Susanne Sundfør.
Her debut EP "Ways of Escaping" (2021) was reviewed 5 stars by Norwegian national newspaper Klassekampen, described as “a gliding escape through musical possibilities, with double and triple layers of interest”. For her performance the same year at Bergen’s showcase festival ‘Vill Vill Vest’, she received another 5 stars by local paper Bergens Tidende.
From her former years at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Signe has been involved in several art/music projects and played on renowned stages such as Melkweg, Eurosonic and Paradiso. In her solo project Signe Dø, she additionally toured in the Netherlands as a part of Popronde Festival in 2021.
