DANNY KUTTNER BLENDS SOUL AND LEFTFIELD ELECTRONIC IN NEW SINGLE ‘LIMELIGHT’ FOLLOWING DEBUT EP ANNOUNCEMENT

Tel Aviv based artist Danny Kuttner shares her new single ‘Limelight’ via Kartel Music Group. This single release follows her debut EP announcement for ‘Purple’, which will be released on March 31st.

Born in Amsterdam and raised in Israel, Danny steps into the ‘Limelight’ with a smooth and soulful track influenced by ECM’s contemporary jazz and 90s neo-soul, all whilst blending laid-back organic tones with left-field electronic production. Written with friend and drummer Roy Reemy, Danny intended to create this track from scratch. Drinking tea and discussing life with Roy, the pair then turned this casual encounter into arguably the strongest track on the EP. Discussing ‘Limelight’ she explains “it has a chill yet groovy feel -It's that kind of song that would lift your mood, on a sunny day. The lyrics talk about finding my place, self - growing and searching my internal home.”

Singing for as long as she can remember, Danny’s musical upbringing was informed equally by the intuitively emotive music of jazz auteur Norah Jones as well as the self-assured pop of superstars like Beyoncé and Britney Spears. Honing her sound during her high school years, she then delved deeper into the classic jazz sound of vocalists like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, as well as discovering jazz adjacent acts such as Hiatus Kaiyote and James Blake, who were experimenting with electronics to create a new, textural language of melody and improvisation.

“Neo soul, electronics and jazz were all such exciting avenues to explore – they were colours for my palette,” Kuttner says. “But it wasn’t until I left home at 21 and travelled the world for two years that I really discovered what music meant to me. That was when I realised I am an artist and that I have my own voice.”

Danny Kuttner’s new single ‘Limelight’ is out now and is taken from the forthcoming EP ‘Purple’, which is out on March 31st via Kartel Music Group. Stream ‘Limelight’ Here. Pre-Order ‘Purple’ Here.
