Berlin Fashion Week AW24

5th March 2024

Having previously attended London Fashion Week last year, I had high expectations for Berlin. And it completely blew my mind. I walked into the venue at Maximiliian Gerda feeling immensely underdressed in my idea of high effort chic. The guests inspired me to up my fashion game a few notches for sure. Men and women in gorgeous fur coats, leather bodysuits, mesh, and platform boots and the attention to detail was immaculate too with expressive makeup, chunky accessories, and gelled hair. They looked cooler than Berliner Luft. The touch of the German punk scene meets LGBTQ was still alive in fashion. The crowd gasped adoringly at each outfit that walked the catwalk. The love and genuine passion for fashion was evident all around. Attendees themselves adorned in the Maximillian Gerda brand and signature style, you could tell these were diehard fans of fashion.

The second show that day was Richert Biel. The queue in the venue was insane, with a few hundred attendees lined up at the entrance. I even spotted a few familiar faces from Maximilian’s show earlier, in addition to an iconic outfit change as it wouldn't be fashion week without a new vibe for a new show. Attendees were on theme with white, black, and neutral layering with tons of silver jewellery. I managed to grab the best spot this time and watched in awe at the wonderful and uncanny catwalk. Each model brought their own diverse flavor and reflected the versatility of the brand. A cake and a creamed face were two things I had never seen before on a catwalk! The concept of each piece was unique, full of personality, and encapsulated the edge of the brand.
