Bavé continues to tease forthcoming album Acoustics & Hood Psychedelia alongside new single ‘Yayo’

Following critical acclaim across his stunning cinematic cut “Anima (Think of You)”, Bavé returns with his new single “Yayo” – released via The Satchi Six.

With heavy-weight percussion and potent 808s laying groundwork for his raw vocal harmonies, “Yayo” continues to define the Swedish powerhouse as standout. Delving into an unfamiliar space of psychedelia, the track oscillates between lightness and dark, with Bavé’s intricate wordplay and falsetto shining front and centre. Confronting the seductive and destructive influences that distort our realities, this captivating performance stands as a testament to his artistic integrity, dancing through the intoxicating allure of temptation and seeking a way out of the spiralling abyss.

Speaking on the track, Bavé mentions: ''’Yayo’ is about a place within that was once filled with life and light but is now silent and empty. The song captures the fallout of loving someone whose addiction destroyed it all.”

He adds: “The production is the most alt R&B-driven on the album but mixed with direct influences from King Tubby and dub music.’’

Continuing to tease the raw, incendiary soundwaves of his forthcoming album ‘Acoustics & Hood Psychedelia’, “Yayo” quickly follows the release of Bavé’s highly acclaimed single “Anima (Think of You)” (watch) – a powerful fever dream of visual art directed by Nicolina Knapp (B-REEL FILMS, Midsommar). The stylish clash of absurdism and performance quickly earned serious tastemaker love, with the likes of WONDERLAND, COLORS and VIPER all proclaiming a significant creative force balancing vulnerability and authority.

Growing up in Gottsunda, Bavé’s childhood was marked by isolation and boredom within Sweden’s most infamous district. With deprivation and restricted opportunities sweeping through his area, expression through music and dance soon became creative outlets for the young artist to develop his artistic direction. From burning CDs and creating mixtapes on his old computer to delivering his debut EP In Vermouth in 2021, Bavé strives to make music and visual art with genuine impact while spotlighting the stories being told across the projects of Sweden and beyond.

Following a critically acclaimed performance at Gothenburg’s Way Out West festival in 2022, Bavé released his most recent EP All Stars Aligned – a stunning body of work that earned the rising talent Grammis and Manifest Awards in the Best Soul/R&B categories.

Now returning to the ether after two experimental years immersed in the underground scenes of London and New York, Bavé's creative journey ultimately led him back to the dub and sound system culture of his Gottsunda roots. This two-year voyage helped crystallise the celestial, dystopian sound he’s envisioned since his youth - a raw and hypnotic gateway laced with tales of love, hope, progress and the social boundaries that elevate his storytelling into something inspired and universal.

With further tastemaker support across the likes of THE INDEPENDENT, ENFNTS TERRIBLES and ONES TO WATCH, Bavé is finally coming into his own; his blunt, conscious commentary and eclecticism will continue to mark him as one of the brightest stars across the European underground right now.
